Keep on Climbing

On 18 Mar 17, Lt Cdr Lee Packer and LNN Lizzie Crofts competed against some of the best climbers in the world at the Climbing Works International Festival; it was the ultimate tale of the underdogs, but without the triumphant ending.

Exercise Achilles

On 7 Sep 16, DMG(SW) made the long journey up to Marne Barracks Catterick to compete in Exercise Achilles – the inter-DMG pentathlon. The event saw teams representing DMGs from up and down the country taking part in five arduous event back to back. DMG(SW) put forward five individuals to take part in all aspects of the competition and a relay team who passed the baton through the different elements.

Navy Netball Overseas

The Royal Navy Netball Associations’ Interservice victory in RAF Cosford back in March this year could not have came at a better time for the team, as they got to celebrate by going on their tour to Fiji in June 16. The RNNA tour every 3 years to bring through grass route players, experience different styles of play from different nations and to promote the Royal Navy overseas.

Training Begins for Iron Man Half Triathlon

On Sunday 22nd May LNN Crofts travelled the three and a half hour journey from Plymouth to Eton Downey to represent the Royal Navy and DMG(SW) in the exciting sport of triathlon.  She had entered the supersprint tri, which was the start of her big plan to complete a half iron man triathlon by the end of 2017.  After training so hard all year, this was the time to shine.

Surf's Up!

Earlier this month the 2016 Tri-service Surfing Competition took place with two fellow QARNNS from DMG(SW) Sub Lt Zoe Williams and LNN Laura Davis taking part.

The competition began with good vibes all round, the sun was shining, blue skies over the Cornish coast and some snazzy team jackets, however the only problem… no waves.
