Adventure Training and Sports
The motto ‘work hard, play hard’ is a philosophy much of the Royal Navy tries to adhere to whenever possible, and the QARNNS are no exception to this. QARNNS personnel of all ranks and rates have been involved in various adventure training and sporting activities over recent years.
These have included long distance Sailing journeys, activity holidays in Cornwall, walking expeditions, mountain climbing in Argentina and sporting tours to various international locations.
The QARNNS Trust Fund support these whenever possible.

LNN Sarah Morris- RN and FEG Championships
May 2013 saw the 'Royal Navy Royal Marines Show Jumping and Eventing Team' meet with Forces Equine Group to hold the RN and FEG championships. As an individual LNN Sarah Morris rode in the combined training class for the RNRMSJE on a hireling called 'Spot'. After dressage they went onto jump a fantastic 90 cm clear showjumping round. LNN Morris then hosted Second Sea Lord Vice Admiral David Steel CBE and NAVSEC at a VIP lunch, followed by a march past on horse back saluting the Duke of Wellington.
Sunday saw better fourtunes as LNN Morris combined forces with Lt Becca Talbot on 'Dublins Copper Coin' and Mrs Jennie Cooper on 'Mac'. It was a three phase competition. Mrs Cooper completed the 75cm showjumping followed by LNN Morris in the 90cm cross country, both tearing around the course (as safely as possible) before racing to the change over point. Lt Talbot then jumped a 90 cm clear in the showjumping. They were fast! managing to finish in first place beating teams from the Army, RAF, Police and another Royal Navy team.
